Seeking help through the AWLIYA

Seeking help through the AWLIYA

Seeking help through the
Awliya:
Belief of Ahl as-Sunnah wa'l
Jama'ah regarding Seeking Help
through the Awliya
'Allama Sa'eedi and 'Allama 'Abd
al-Hakim Sharf Qadri write:
"It is better that help is sought
directly from Allah, most High,
and through the waseela of the
anbiya or awliya. If an individual
seeks help from the anbiya or
awliya by means of achieving
help from Allah, most High, the
person is not committing kufr."
[Sharh Muslim, 'Allama Sa'idi,
Nidaa-e-Ya Muhammad, page 30
by 'Allama Sharf Qadri]
Shaykh al-'Alawi al-Maliki, the
Mufti of Makka writes:
"When we ask help from the
anbiya and awliya, as a means, it
is through their supplication
(du'a) that they help us. Take for
example the Day of Judgment
when the umma will benefit from
our Beloved Prophet,
Hadrat Muhammad Mustafa (May
Allah bless him and grant him
peace). This is called asking for
help through the anbiya and
awliya and likewise to ask them
to make du'a for us can be called
help or istishfah or tawasul.

The Permissibility of Seeking Help
from the Pious
Ibn Taymiyya and Qadi Shawkani
quote the following hadith: 'Abd
Allah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be
pleased with Him, reported that
our Beloved Prophet, (May Allah
bless him and grant him peace),
stated:
"If you ever find yourselves
stranded alone in a desolate
place or jungle, then say, 'O
servants of Allah! Help me, Allah
have mercy on you.'"
[Al-Kalim al-Tayyib, page 69, by
ibn Taymiyya, and Qadi Shawkani
in Tufhat ad-Dhakireen, page
130. Ibn Sunni, Imam Bazaar,
Hafidhh al Hasamim and Imam
Nawawi all quote this hadith also
in their various books.]
This hadith, demonstrates that
one can ask help from those who
one cannot see, like the angels,
the friends of Allah, the jinn, and
that it cannot be said that it is a
wrong act. Mullah 'Ali Qari writes
that our Beloved Prophet
Muhammad, (May Allah bless him
and grant him peace), said that:
If you are in the jungle alone say,
"O servants of Allah! Help me."
The servants of Allah are the
angels, Muslims, jinn, or 'abdal.
This hadith is useful for travellers.

Gausul Ajam R.A

Gausul Ajam R.A

Bismillahir Rehmanir Raheem
Gausul Azam blessed by Sayyidina RasoolAllah sallallahu alaih wasallam, he became a great preacher, orator and reformer. Once in Shawwal 521 AH, Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (alaih rehman) saw Sayyidina RasoolAllah sallallahu alaih wasallam in his dream advising him to make a speech and to impart his knowledge to others. Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (alaih rehman) asked to be blessed with eloquence as he was an Ajmi (non-Arab). Sayyidina RasoolAllah sallallahu alaih wasallam recited the Aayat "Call unto the way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preachings' (16:25) seven times and blew on the face of Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (alaih rehman). The same day after Zuhr prayer, Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (alaih rehman) mounted the pulpit and addressed the people with a sermon. The audience were entranced by his words. His assemblies were attended by men of all calibre. About 400 men remained engaged in recording his speeches (Akhbarul Akhyar). Many embraced Islam under the influence of his sermons. His fame for learning, piety, inner illumination, truth and strict adherence to Shariah spread all over. People flocked to hear his lectures and benefit from the sermons that covered all aspects of life. Muslim sinners would change their course of life after listening to his discourses. His spiritual personality awed even the greatest of men. When Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani (alaih rehman) spoke he was prompted by the Grace of Allah subhan wa ta'ala causing the miraculous and revolutionary impact of his words. The greatest of all divines and mystic saints of Islam, Hazrat Peeran-e- Peer Ghaus e Azam Shah Abdul Qadir Jilani (alaih rehman) breathed his last on the 11th Rabi-us-Sani, 561 A.H. at the age of 91 years. His death cast a gloom over the world of Islam but his life and teachings will forever illuminate the hearts of Muslims.

his maternal to Hazrat Imam
Hassan (A.S.) and thus he is a
direct descendant of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.).His
father,Sayyid Ghiyas-u'ddin, a pious man of some means, died when his
son was in his teens. He left as legacy an orchard and a grinding
mill. Once Hazrat Khwaja
Moinuddin Hassan Chishty (R.A) was looking after the plants in his
garden that a mystic, Shaikh
Ibrahim Qanduzi, happened to pass by. Shaikh Mu'in-u'd-din
entertained him in his garden.
Hagiologists trace the
germination of mystic attitude in
him to the blessings of this Saint.
In fact, the most powerful factor
in giving a mystic touch to his
personality at this early stage
was the condition of Sijistan
which had suffered terribly at the
hands of the Qara Khita and the
Ghuzz Turks. It drove the
Khwaja's mind inwards and he
realized the futility of hankering
after worldly glory or looking
after worldly goods. He sold all
his assets, gave the proceeds in
charity and took to itineracy. He
visited the eminent scholars of

IMPORTANCE OF LOVING THE AWLIYA

Importance of loving the AWLIYAALLAH

Allah revealed to Musa (Alaihis
Salaam), "What actions have you
done for my pleasure?" He said,
"O Allah, I have prayed to you,
kept fast, and paid charity." Allah
said, "Prayer is a clear proof for
you, fast is a shield for you, and
charity is your shade. But what
have you done for me?" Hadrat
Musa (Alaihis Salaam) then asked,
"O Allah, show me as action
which is only for
you." Allah said, "O Musa, have
you loved someone for My sake,
and hated anyone for My sake?"
(Ihya al-uloom id-deen, Vol II)
From this, we can say that
although we have never seen
many of the great Awliya, but we
only love them, because they love
Allah, and Allah loves them.
Therefore, we love them for the
sake of Allah, and we should
distance ourselves from those
who dislike the friends of Allah,
as we will be hating them for
Allah's sake.
Hadrat Baba Farid Ganje Shakar
(Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) has
narrated:
"A sinful young man died in
Multan. Someone asked him in a
dream as to what was his
condition. He replied that Allah
had pardoned him. He explained
that one day, when Khawaja
Baha-ul-Haq Zakarriya Multani
(Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) was
walking, he had kissed his hand
with utmost respect. Because of
this respect, he had been
pardoned."

Love of the Holy Prophet

Love of the Holy Prophet

Love of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam):-
Allah Ta'ala has sent the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) as blessings and mercy personified. His very presence is a great ni'mah of Allah Ta'ala for humanity. Loving Him is not only an urging of our Iman, but is Iman itself. There is a Hadith in Sahih Bukhari: Translation of Hadith: It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Anas Bin Malik (May Allah be well pleased with him)that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: None of you can become a believerunless I become dearer to him (or her) than his father, children and everybody else. (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 15). whenever somebody loves somebody in this world, it is because of either of these 4 reasons: (1) Physical beauty. (2) Accomplishments . (3) Generosity.
(4) Relationship. All these 4 reasons are found in their most fulfilling form in the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). The physical beauty of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was such that theSahabah would say: Translation of Hadith: The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is beautiful than all others, with His face and with His personality. (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 3549) Our eyes have never seen anyone more beautiful than you either before you orafter you. (Jame' Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 3999) Mufti Sahab quoted the following verse of Surah Baqarah: Of all these Messengers (whom We sent) We have exalted some above others: Allah spoke to some of them (directly), and raised some (above all others) in rank…. (2:253) The exegetes (Mufassirin) have said that " raised some (above all others) in rank " means the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) The generosity of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is such that His blessed hands always showered people with His generosity and benevolence. No one who asked ever turned back empty-handed. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) never said, "No," to anyone who asked of Him. About the relationship with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), it is given in the Holy Quran: This (Esteemed) Prophet is nearer to and has a greater claim on the believers than their own souls and his (pure) wives are their mothers. Surah Ahzaab (33:6) the love of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is Iman itself and the demand of love is that we follow the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) in the most complete manner and that we revolutionize our lives with the beacon of theSeerah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). We should follow the injunctions given by the HolyProphet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in all the ebbs and flows of life and prove our Iman and our love of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) thus. Our success lies in our following the Holy Prophet(Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihiwa sallam) said: Whoever revives my Sunnah, indeed, he has loved me and whoever loves me with be privileged with my proximity and closeness in Jannah. (Jame' Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 2894)

JASHNE EID-E-MILAD-UN-NABI صلى الله عليه وسلم

JASHNE EID-E-MILAD-UN-NABI صلى الله عليه وسلم Part 1

Rabiul Awwal is that bountiful month of Islam in which the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu AlaihiWasallam) graced the universe. On the 12th of Rabiul Awwal an inextinguishable light known as Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) was born, triumphing over darkness which had prevailed till then. Allah Subhaanahu Wata’ala in His Infinite Mercy endowed mankind with a gift, immeasurable in worth. Celebrating, remembering and showing gratitude for that auspicious day on which we received this precious gift is known as Jashne Eid-Milad-un-Nabi (Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam). Indeed, it is a day of great and splendorous celebration, for in it we thank Allah Ta’ala for His gift, whose appreciation is beyond the power of mortal man. It is with this Meeladun-Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) that we avail ourselves the opportunity of rejuvenating our souls and strengthening our belief in Allah Subhaanahu Wata’ala and His Beloved Rasool(Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).
Allah Ta’ala exclaims in the Holy Qur’an, “And remind them of the days of Allah.” [Surah 14,Verse 5] Indeed all the days and nights, every fraction of a second of existence are among Hiscreations and belong to Him, so of which days does Allah Ta’ala remind His servants? The days are those wherein Allah Ta’ala has sent His Bounties unto His servants. And which is the Bounty of Bounties? Those who believe know that above all the gifts from Allah Ta’ala none is more apparent in greatness than the very person of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).Allah Ta’ala further says in the Holy Qur’an, “Say (Oh Muhammad), with the receival of Allah’s Bounty and Mercy the believers should be happy.” Therefore, the Holy Qur’an clearly sanctions the fact that the believers should remember and express joy at the receival of the gifts of Allah Ta’ala. Almighty Allah then says, “Proclaim and publicise the Bounty of thy Lord.” [Surah 93,Verse 11] Imam Bukhari (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) says that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu AlaihiWasallam) is the greatest Bounty of Almighty Allah. Therefore in accordance with the Aayat and narration above, our Beloved Aaqa (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) should become the object of most publicity.
The intention of celebrating Milad Shareef is to show joy and gratitude to Allah Ta’ala on the auspicious birth of the Noble Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and there is no doubt from the above Aayaat that this is a virtuous and commendable act. The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) came into this mundane world on a Monday and as a mark of gratitude to Allah Ta’ala for this day, he would fast every Monday. When asked about his fasting on Mondays he replied, “I was born on a Monday and revelation also began on this day.” Therefore even the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) himself celebrated the day of his birth and showed gratitude to Allah Ta’ala, which is the essence of Milad-un-Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) celebrations.
When the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) was born, Abu Lahab’s slave-girl Thuwaibah brought the news of a child (Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) born to his brother Hazrat Abdullah (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh). In his frenzy of happiness Abu Lahab freed Thuwaibah from her chains of servitude. All Muslims know that Abu Lahab was a kaafir and that Surah Lahab is Almighty Allah’s Wrath upon him, yet Oh Muslims listen:
It is stated in Bukhari Shareef that when Abu Lahab died he was seen in a dream by Hazrat Abbas (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) in a very bad state. Hazrat Abbas (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) asked him, “What has come to pass?” Abu Lahab replied, “I have known no peace since my separation from all of you but yes, from this forefinger of mine I receive water because with this finger I freed Thuwaibah.”
In another narration Imam Hafiz Ibn Asqalaani (Rahmatullah Alaih) writes that Hazrat Abbas (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) said that, “One year after Abu Lahab died I saw him in a very bad state in a dream saying to me that, “I have known no peace since I departed from you all but yes every Monday my punishment is lessened.” This was because Abu Lahab freed Thuwaibah on a Monday after hearing the good news of the birth of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam).
Shah Abdul Haq Muhaddis Dehlvi (Rahmatullah Alaih) commenting on this narration writes, “In this incident there is clear proof for the celebration of Milad Shareef and that those who are happy and spend in the celebration of Milad Shareef then indeed they will be in a laudable position, because if a kaafir such as Abu Lahab received a gift for showing happiness at the birth of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) then greater by immeasurable extent will be the reward for Muslims who do likewise.”
Allamah Ibn Hajar Makki (Rahmatullah Alaih) writes in his great book Ne’matul Kubra the sayings of the first four Caliphs of Islam:
Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) said, “He who hath spent in the recital of Milad
Shareef one dirham, then he shall be my companion in Jannat.”
Hazrat Umar Farooq (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) said, “He who hath kept in veneration the Milad of
the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), he hath kept Islam alive!”
Hazrat Uthman Ghani (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) said, “He who hath spent one dirham in the recital
of Milad Shareef, it is as if he had been a participant in the battles of Badr and Hunain!”
Hazrat Maula Ali (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) said, “He who revered the Milad Shareef and was
instrumental in its recital, he shall leave this world upon Imaan and shall enter Jannat without
reckoning!”
Allamah Ismail Haqqi (Rahmatullah Alaih) writes in his famous Tafseer Roohul Bayaan under the
Qur’anic Verse “Muhammadur Rasoolullah” that the celebration of Milad Shareef is also a mark of
respect for the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). Furthermore, Imam Jalaaluddin Suyuti
(Rahmatullah Alaih) and Allamah Ibn Hajar Makki (Rahmatullah Alaih), who were giants of
knowledge in Islam, proved the permissibility of Milad Shareef and at the same time, refuted the
corrupt beliefs of those who claimed Milad Shareef to be ‘Bid’at-e-Sayyiah’ (bad innovation).
Hazrat Shah Waliullah Muhaddis Dehlvi (Rahmatullah Alaih) reports that, “In Makkah Shareef
on the day of Milad-un-Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) I was present. The people sent
salutations on the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and mentioned his birth and the
miracles at the time of his birth, and I saw Noor (light) and Blessings in that gathering. I ventured
to find out where the Noor was coming from and I came to know that the Noor was that of the
angels who are sent to such gatherings and I saw the Light of the angels and the Light of Mercy
together.”
He further goes on to explain that once his honourable father said that, “During the day of the
birth of the Beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) I always have food cooked for the
people but one year besides roasted chana (gram) I did not have anything else to give to my guests
and I was saddened.” After this I had a dream wherein I saw the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam) and around him lay roasted chana and the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)
was indeed very happy.”
If after all these proofs there are people who still do not want to acknowledge the permissibility
of Milad Shareef, then they should ponder over the following statement. Imam Mujaddid Alfe
Thaani (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anh) who was the Mujaddid of the 11th century has stated in his
writings on Milad Shareef, “What matters when the Qur’an is recited sweetly and when praises
are sung in honour of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)?”
There are many more proofs on the permissibility of Milad Shareef however one more incident is
being presented which will reinforce our belief in the permissibility of Milad Shareef. On the
night of the birth of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), angels came and stood at the
door of Sayyidah Amina’s (Radiallahu Ta’ala Anha) home and commenced the recital of Salaat
and Salaam. Yes, the natural wretch and disgraced Shaitaan ran in sadness. [Madaarijun- Nubuwwah] Therefore those, in whose bosoms kindles the light of belief, who celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and stand to send Salaam upon him, are following the practice of the angels. And those who stop others from attending such gatherings by calling it haraam and bid’at-e-sayyiah and run far from such gatherings are following the practice of shaitaan. So we should ponder carefully on this and decide whether we want to follow the angels or to follow shaitaan. Unfortunate beyond measure indeed, are those who are bereft of these bounties!
May Allah Ta’ala grant us all the Taufeeq to participate in the beautiful occasion of Jashne Eid-
Milad-un-Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), so that we may show our happiness and gratitude to Almighty Allah and attain the Mercy and Bounties of Allah Ta’ala that descend on this auspicious
day, Ameen.

The karamat of AWLIYA

The karamat of AWLIYA

THE KARAMAT OF THE AWLIYA A supernatural act, or miracle, performed by a Wali, is known as karamat. One must understand that the performing of miracles, is not a necessary condition of sainthood. There are some people, when they read or hear about the Awliya, he/she immediately looks for miracles. They think that since they have not heard of any miracle, that person cannot be a Wali. This is totally incorrect. To deny the karaamat of a Wali is a sign of ignorance and misguidance, as this is proven in the Qur'an. The Qur'an al-Kareem relates that karamat of Hadrat Asif (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu), who was a Wali from the ummah of Hadrat Sulayman (Alaihis Salaam). Before a blinking of an eye, Hadrat Asif (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) presented the throne of Bilqees, which was in a very distant place, before HadratSulaiman (Alaihis Salaam). (Surah 27, Verse 10) Another narration is when Hadrat Zakariya (Alaihis Salaam) questioned Hadrat Bibi Maryam (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhaa), the mother of Hadrat Isa (Alaihis Salaam), about the fruit which were out of season, that he saw in her place of worship. She said that they had come from Allah. (Surah 3, Verse 37).

To Call to the Auliyah ALLAH

To Call to the Auliyah ALLAH

1. Some persons believe that it is Shirk (associating partners with Allah) if you call to the Awliyah Allah (Saints) for help, for example, "Ya Ghous, Assist me" or "Ya Khwaja, Assist me".
2. The Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama'at believes that it is permissible to call to the Awliyah Allah (radi Allahu anhum) for
assistance or help as this is not associating partners with Allah Ta’ala. We believe that Allah Ta’ala has given the Awliya Allah special powers to assist the creation with His permission.
3. The following verse of the Holy Quran proves that one can also seek the assistance of the Awliya Allah: "Your helpers are Almighty Allah and His Rasool and those Muslims who perform Salaah and give alms and make Ruku" (Part 6, Ruku 6) This verse refers to the Helpers as "those Muslims" who are in reality the "Awliya".
4. The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has stated, "There are certain of Allah's servants that have been set aside to fulfil the necessities of the people. People will call to them in their times of need. They are protected from the punishment of Almighty Allah". (Jame Saghir) This Hadith Shareef clearly proves that one may call the Awliya Allah for assistance.
5. Hazrat Allama ibn Juzri (radi Allahu anhu) states, "If one is ever in any need then He should say, 'O servants of Allah, assist me! O servants of Allah, assist me! O servants of Allah, assist me'." (Tibraani)
6. Hazrat Imam Naudi (radi Allahu anhu), the commentator of "Muslim Shareef", quotes an incident: "One of my superiors narrated an incident to me, 'My mule ran away and I had known the Ahadith and I immediately said, 'O servants of Allah, assist me!' Almighty Allah immediately stopped the mule (from running away)'." (Kitaabul Azkaar)
7. Hazrat Shamsuddeen Muhammad Hanafi (radi Allahu anhu) was performing ablution in his room. He suddenly threw his wooden sandal into the air. It disappeared although there was no way for it to exit through the room.He gave the other sandal to his disciple and asked him to keep it until the first one returned. After some time a certain person from Syria arrived with the sandal and some money as gifts and said, "May Almighty Allah give you the thanks for this. The actual incident, which occurred, was that once when a thief sat on my chest and was about to slaughter me. In my heart I said, 'Ya Sayyidi Muhammadin Ya Hanafiyu.' Then suddenly, this sandal came and fell on the chest of the thief with such force that he became dazed and collapsed and Almighty Allah has saved me through your blessing." (Tabqaatul Kubra)
8. Hazrat Allama Abdul Wahab Shu'raani (radi Allahu anhu) when explaining the status and significance of Hadrat Moosa Abu Imran (radi Allahu anhu) states: "When any of his Mureeds would call to him from anywhere, he would answer them even if he is in a years distance away or even more than that." (Tabqaatul Kubra)
9. When Hazrat Sayyidi Shamsudeen Hanafi (radi Allahu anhu) was on his death-bed, he called his Mureeds and said: "If anyone has any wish or need, he should come to my grave, I will indeed help him in fulfilling it.Remember between you and me, there is merely a handful of sand, and how can a mere handful of sand be a screen between a Murshid and his Mureed. If the sand does become a screen, then the Murshid cannot be a perfect Man (Insaan-e-Kaamil)."
10. Sayyidi Mohammed Farghal (radi Allahu anhu) states: "I am indeed amongst those Saints who can assist you from the grave. If, therefore, you have any wish or need come to my grave and facing me, mention your requirements. I will fulfill them."
11. It is recorded that while Hazrat Sayyidi Madeen Ahmed Ashmooni (radi Allahu anhu) was performing the Wudhu, he suddenly threw his sandal towards the eastern side of the city. A year later a man arrived and described a strange incident. He said: "My daughter was once walking in the jungle, when an evil man tried to entrap her. She did not at the time remember the name of her father's Murshid, yet in panic, she screamed, 'O
Murshid of my father, save me!’ Suddenly, a sandal appeared from thin air and rendered the evil man unconscious." It is stated that the sandal is still in the possession of the mentioned family.
12. Imaam Arif Billah Sayyidi Abdul Wahab Sha'raani (radi Allahu anhu), in his book,"Lawaaqi-ul-Anwaar Fi Tabqaatil Akhyaar", records a strange and miraculous incident. It is recorded that a Mureed of Sayyidi Mohammed Khawri (radi Allahu anhu) was once passing through the market, when the foot of the animal he was riding slipped. In extreme panic he screamed, "Ya Sayyidi Muhammad, Ya Ghamri!" Co-incidently, in that very market place, the captured ruler, ibn Omar Sa'eed, was also passing through. He inquired from the Mureed as to who was Sayyidi Mohammed. When he was told who he was, he asked permission to use the name of the Murshid so that he could also be released. As soon as he had proclaimed the name of the great Wali, the spiritual master appeared and driving away the capturers, freed the ruler. The Shaikh then blessed the ruler, and thereafter departed.
13. Among the excellences of Hazrat Sayyidi Moosa Abu Imraan (radi Allahu anhu), it is recorded that whenever his Mureeds used to call to him, he immediately use to assist them, even though the Mureed was as far away as a
year's journey or even more.
14. Before the passing away of Moulana Rumi (radi Allahu anhu), he revealed to his Mureeds a startling secret. He said: "Whatever conditions you may be in, remember me, so that I can be your protector and helper, irrespective of what state I may be in. In this world I have two types of relationships, one with my body and the other with you, and when, with the Mercy of Allah I am freed from this contact with my body and the world of loneliness is exposed to me, I will divert the attention of my soul to you."
15. Hazrat Shah Wali'ullah (radi Allahu anhu), records a method for achieving and fulfilling one's needs and wishes in his book, "Al intibah fi Salasil-e-Awliya". He states: "One should first perform two Rakaats of Nafil Salaah. After completion he should recite the following - 111 times Durood Shareef, 111 times Kalima Tamjeed and 111 times 'Shay an Lillah, Ya Shaikh Abdal Qaadir Jilaani'." From this book, it has been proven that all the great
Luminaries believed in the proclamation of "Shay an Lillah" as being a valid and a great solution to manyunsolved problems.
16. Hazrat Ahmed Zarooq (radi Allahu anhu) said: "I indeed bless my (Mureeds) with tranquillity during times of difficulty and perplexity, when cruelty and evil oppresses them and in times of misery and fear. Therefore (during these times) call to me 'Ya Zarooq', I will immediately come to your assistance."
17. Allama Ziyadi, Allama Ajhoori, Allama Dawoodi and Allama Shaami (radi Allahu anhum), have all prescribed a method for finding mislaid items. They state: "One should climb on to a high spot and offer Faatiha for Hazrat Sayyidi Ahmed bin Alwaan Yamaani (radi Allahu anhu). Thereafter invoking his name one should say, 'Ya Sayyidi Ahmed, Ya ibn Alwaan'."
18. From all of the above narrations one will see that to call upon the Awliya for assistance is permissible even if they are thousands of miles away. With the permission of Allah Ta’ala they certainly assist those who are in need.

To Proclaim Ya Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani Shai Un Lillah

To Proclaim Ya Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani Shai Un Lillah

1. Some persons say that to utter "Ya Sheikh Abdal Qaadir Jilani Shai un lillah" is Shirk because one is making partnership with Allah Ta’ala (committing Shirk) by asking for assistance from the creation of Allah Ta'ala. They say that one can only ask directly from Allah Ta’ala.
2. The Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama'at believes that it is absolutely permissible to say "Ya Sheikh Abdal Qaadir Jilani Shai un lillah" when asking for assistance from those servants of Allah Ta'ala whom He has appointed as helpers of the Ummah.
3. We understand from the verse "Iyya ka Na'budu Wa Iy'ya ka Nas Ta'een" (You Alone we worship and You Alone we ask for Help), which is found in Surah Fateha, that the True Helper is Allah Ta'ala. But it is Allah Ta’ala who has appointed helpers from within His servants to assist the creation with His permission.
4. Hazrat Shah Abdul Azeez Muhaddith Delhwi (radi Allahu anhu) explains the Tafseer of the verse "Iy'ya ka Na'budu Wa Iy'ya Ka Nastaeen" by writing: "Here, it should be understood that to ask for assistance from anyone other than Allah, by putting full trust and not thinking of it as a marvel of Almighty Allah, is prohibited. But, if the attention is towards Allah and
then to think of a person as the splendour of Almighty Allah and by keeping the means and wisdom of Almighty Allah before you, if one asks from anyone other than Allah, then
this is not far from the Wisdom of Almighty Allah. This action is permissible and allowed in Shariah. To ask for help in this way is not really asking from someone but Allah, but in reality it is to ask from Allah." (Tafseer Azeezi)
5. As long as a person bears this fact in mind that the True and Real Helper is Allah Ta'ala and no matter whom he asks from, it will be through the Mercy of Allah Ta'ala, then it is permissible to ask from such a person. This
can never be termed as Shirk.
6. In the Holy Quran, it is proven that the Ambiya (alaihimus salaam) asked the servants of Allah Ta'ala, who are His creation, to assist them in their mission of Deen. To quote two examples:-
a.We read about Hazrat ‘Isa (alaihis salaam) asking for help from his Disciples: "Who are those who will assist me in the path of Allah." His Disciples replied to him by saying, "From the servants, we will help in the Deen of Allah." (Part 3, Ruku 13)
b. Hazrat Moosa (alaihis salaam) also asked Allah Ta'ala for assistance and the name of his brother, Hazrat Haroon (alaihis salaam) was suggested to him.
7. If it was Shirk to ask for assistance from
the creation, then the Ambiya (alaihimus
salaam) would have never asked the people to assist them in their propogation of Deen.
8. Besides the Ambiya (alaihimus salaam) asking the servants of Allah Ta'ala to assist them in the Deen, Allah Ta'ala states in the Holy Quran that Jibraeel (alaihis salaam) and the pious Muslims are also helpers: "Then, undoubtedly Allah is his helper, and Jibraeel and the righteous Believers and after that the Angels are hishelpers." (Part 28)
9. The Holy Quran says: "We gave clear signs to 'Isa son of Maryam and we assisted him with the Holy Spirit." (Part 3, Ruku 1) The Holy Spirit in this verse refers to Hazrat Jibraeel (alaihis salaam), who is an Angel
and one of Allah Ta'ala’s creation. If the help of the creation was considered to be Shirk, then Allah Ta'ala would have never allowed Jibraeel (alaihis salaam) to be the assistant of Hazrat ‘Isa (alaihis salaam).
10. Once, Hazrat Has'saan bin Thaabit (radi Allahu anhu) recited a Naath in the court of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). The Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) thereafter made a Du'a for him. This Du'a alone will show that we are from the Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama'at. The beautiful Du'a was that: "O Allah! Assist him (Hazrat Has'saan bin Thaabit) through Rooh Quds (Jibraeel Ameen)."(Bukhari Shareef)
11. Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Haq Muhaddith Delhwi (radi Allahu anhu) states: "There are certain Awliyah Allah, whom Allah has created only for the informing and guidance of his servants. People with needs turn towards them for help and they receive for that which they ask and they chant this song that, 'If you come towards Me with your body, then I shall come towards you with My soul'." (Tafseere Azeezi)
12. Sayyidi Jamal bin Abdullah bin Omar Makki (radi Allahu anhu), in his Fatawa states that he was questioned about those people who proclaim in times of difficulty, "Ya Rasoolullah, Ya Ali, Ya Sheikh Abdul Qaadir" as to these proclamations being permissible in Islam. The great scholar replied: "Yes, these proclamations are permissible. To call to them is permissible including using their names as Wasilas. This is permissible in the light of the Shari'ah. Such an act is desirable and approved. Only those individuals who are stubborn and arrogant would oppose or question this reality, and they certainly are unfortunate and deprived of the Barakaat (blessing) of the Awliya Allah."
13. Imaam Allama Khairudeen Ramli (radi Allahu anhu) wrote: "People who proclaim, Ya Sheikh Abdul Qaadir (are merely emulating) a call, what, therefore, is the reason for it, not to be permissible?" (Fatawa Khayria)
14. Hazrat Ghousul-Azam, Sheikh Abdul Qaadir Jilaani (radi Allahu anhu) said: "If anyone seeks my help in difficulty, I remove the difficulty and if anyone in danger calls me by my name, I save him from danger and if anyone seeks my Wasila (medium) to Allah the Almighty in need and necessity, these are fulfilled". (Bahyay-ul- Asran; Zubdat-ul-Asran)
15. Sayiddina Ghousul-Azam (radi Allahu anhu), states: "If a person in distress or hardships calls out to me, his hardship will be eradicated. If a person uses my name as his Wasila (medium) and pleads to Allah, his need will be fulfilled."
16. The great Saint describes a Salaah, which can be extremely beneficial. He states: "A person should perform two Rakaats of Salaah, in every Rakaat he should recite eleven times the Surah Fateha and, thereafter, Surah Ikhlaas eleven times. After completing the Salaah, he should recite the Durood and Salaam upon the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), then remembering me he should proceed eleven steps towards the direction of Baghdad invoking my name in every step, including mentioning his need and wish. In this manner(Allah willing) his need and wish will be granted."
17. The verses of the Holy Quran, the Ahadith and sayings of great Mufasireen that we have quoted here is proof
enough that it is permissible to ask help
from Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qaadir Jilani (radi allahu anhu).Undoubtedly, he is from those servants of Allah Ta'ala, who has been chosen to serve and help the Ummah.

The AWLIYAALLAH are alive in their graves

THE AWLIYA ALLAH ARE ALIVE IN
THEIR GRAVES:-
Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala) says in the Qur'an al-Kareem "Do not even think of those who are martyred in the way of Allah as dead, BUT THEY ARE ALIVE near their lord and given provision. They are joyous of what Allah bestowed upon them of his favour and they give good news to those who have not as yet reached them." (Surah Al-Imraan,Verse 170).
As we have explained earlier that the Awliya are those who have attained nearness to Allah.
Attaining this nearness is not easy because there are certain obstacles. One of the greatest obstacles is bringing one's carnal desires (nafs-ul-ammarah) under control. In this regard, the struggle with one's carnal soul has been regarded as a Jihad-e-Akbar (Great battle), in contrast to Jihad-e-Asghar (Smaller Battle, which is fought on the actual battlefield). This concept is derived from the popular Hadith of the Most Beloved (Salla Allahuta'ala alayhi wa Sallam), in which he said to his companions returning from a battle:"You have returned from a smaller battle to a greater battle."He was then asked by the companions, "What can be a greater battle that that we have just fought?" He (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhi wa Sallam), answered, "The battle against one's nafs."Imam al-Ghazzali (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) says in Ihya al Uloom Vol. IV: "Death cannot destroy the soul, which is the place of Allah's Ma'rifat, because it is something spiritual. Death causes the change of the condition of soul, and relieves it from the prison of it's bodily cage. It does not end as Allah says "Do not even think of those who are martyred in the way of Allah as dead, BUT THEY ARE ALIVE near their lord and given provision. They are joyous of what Allah bestowed upon them of his favour and they give good news to those who have not as yet reached them." (Surah Al-Imraan, Verse 170)."One should not think that this position is acquired only by those that are martyred on the battlefield, because every breath of an Arif (one who has recognized his creator) is a martyr."From the above quotations we can deduce that if those that fight the smaller battle are alive, then surely, without any doubt, those that fight the greater battle are ALIVE!!! Imam Abu Naeem (Radi Allahuta'ala Anhu) , in his book "Hilyaat-ul-Awliya", narrates from HadratSaeed (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) ,that:"By Allah, Hameed Taweel, and
myself were burying Hadrat Thabit Nibhaani (Radi Allahuta'ala Anhu) . As we were setting the final rocks, one rockaccidentally fell into the grave. As I peeped into the grave, I saw Hadrat Thabit Nibhaani (RadiAllahu ta'ala Anhu) was about to perform salaah, and he was imploring to Allah in the following manner: 'O Allah! You have given certain of your creation the permission to perform their salaah within the grave. Give me also this same permission.'It was indeed beyond the mercy of Allah to refuse him."Hadrat Thabit Nibhaani (Radi Allahu ta'ala Anhu) was a Taba'ee (Ones that saw the Sahaaba after the demise of the Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala alayhiwa Sallam).

Miraculous Journey of Prophet Muhammad (s)

Isra and Miraj: Al - Isra and Al- Miraj (The night journey and Ascension) is the most miraculous incident in the life of prophet Muhammad (s) which remains to be unp aralleled in the history. In a time when technology was not known and space journey is non-imaginative, Prophet Muhammad (s) travelled from Makkah to Al-Aqsa Mosque (Jerusalem) and from there to spaces, galaxies, seven skies and far beyond the reach of so called modern technologies, within a very short period of a night. Prophet Muhammad (s) experienced both physical and spiritual journey in which he metmany prophets of olden ages likeEesa (Jesus) and Moosa (Moses)and He stood imam for prayer in Al-Asqa Mosque. The Muslim world celebrates Rajab 27 and fall in worships of zikr and fasting with due respects and remembrance of this miraculous journey. This journey was very decisive stage in the history of Prophet Muhammad (s) as there were many people who embraced Islam. Prophet's companion like Abu-Bakr Siddique (r) became most truthful believer after this incident as even while disb elievers started mocking at Muslims saying about the journey, Abu-Bakr (r)and other companions, with no further seeks, extremely believed and it helped them increase their Ee-man (belief)in Islam. On Mi-raj night, the messenger ofAllah as carried from the sacred mosque of in Makkah to the sacred mosque Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem on a special creature (a vehicle) called Al-Buraq. In this scared journey Jibreel (Gabriel) was accompanying Prophet Muhammad (s). On the way, near to Zam Zam will in Makkah, Prophet Muhammad a(s) was subjected to a surgery that was to enlighten His hearts so as to prepare him to meet Allah Prophet Muhammad (s) was subjected for four sacred surgeries in his life, none of themwas to cure any disease or for purifying him frim any sins, but instead, all these surgeries were done to enlighten His hearts for revelation. Prophet Muhammad (s) was extremely infallible and Allah has purified him from doing any sins. (islamxplored willshortly post articles regarding prophet's surgeries and his infallibility). "Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) who took His slave for a journey by night from A l-Masjid-al -Haram to the farthest mosque, the neighbourhood where of We have blessed, in order that We might show him of our Ayat Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-seer" (17:1)

The Life of Prophet Muhammad

When Allah intended to create the creatures, He first created the "Noor" (Light) of Muhammad. Al-Qastalani (in Al Mawahibu'l-Ladunniyah, vol. 1, pp. 5, 9, 10has quoted the Prophet's traditions to this effect as transmitted through Jabir ibn 'Abdullah al-Ansari and 'Ali (a.s.). The well-known historian al-Mas'udi (in his Maruju 'dh-dhahab) quotes a lengthy tradition from 'Ali (a.s.) to the effect that when Allah created, first of all, the Light of Muhammad, He said to it: "You are My chosen one and the Trustee of My Light and Guidance. It is because of you that I am going to create the earth and the skies, lay down reward and punishment, and bring into being the Garden and the Fire." Then the tradition goes on to speak about the Family of the Prophet, about creation of the angels, of the souls, of the world, of the covenant taken from the souls which combined the belief in the One God with acceptance of Muhammad's Prophethood.
